The Bundle: The Fashion Face Series
Get all 4 Masterclasses
Front Face + Profile Face + 3/4 Angle + Tilted Upward Face
Descriptions
The Face is integral to fashion illustration especially in the beauty industry and let’s be honest, one of the hardest to approach as you have many factors and intricate details to consider: the elements of the face (eye, nose, ears, mouth), the angle/positioning of the head and the planes that form the volume. The face is not a flat subject but carries emotions and diverse features that tell a story and in order to achieve a great character, one needs to know the rules of anatomy and structure as a base to lay the foundations to your own muse.
So if you’re having trouble starting a fashion face or just curious on how to begin, this masterclass is for you!
Course Content
Each masterclass is a 2 hour in depth session on Zoom, where we draw together step by step. We first start with the analysis of the face heavily based on anatomy and we use this as the building block to build the foundation of the chosen face. We're basically laying the groundworks to build on top of and take this from a sketch to the final illustration and I’m here to guide you through each phase from pencil (dry media) to watercolor/gouache (wet media). It’s going to be an exciting and dynamic session with plenty of time for exploration.
The Selected Fashion Face are from the current Fashion Weeks.

Who should take these classes?
Beginners to intermediate. You should have an interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required. However, it is also open for people who want to have a refresher into the fashion face. And anyone who seriously wants to learn in depth on the fashion face.
Learning Outcomes
A full understanding of the face in the particular angle and a deeper understanding of the anatomy and structure. You will know how to start a face from start to finish with pencil sketch to adding values, and adding experimental wet media to a finished portrait illustration.
Materials List
Watercolor Paper (I prefer hot press 140 gsm but up to you!) I personally use Arches but feel free to use any kind, Fabriano or Canson to name a few. A4 size or A3 up to you!
Dry Media: Colored Pencils 3 tones (light, medium, dark) example: Pink/ yellow, Brown/ blue/ red, and Dark grey/ burnt umber/ black. My favorite pencils are Faber Castell Polychromos.
Wet Media: Any type of watercolor or gouache. I use Winsor and Newton for both (artist grade).
Various Brushes but please make sure you have a size 0 for finer details and brushes for watercolor ranging from 1-4. I do like a nice sable brush and it’s nice to have in your repertoire.
Eraser and sharpener
Jar for water and tissue
Optional: Ink
£105 / Recordings x 4
(No refunds on online services / email for exchanges)
